As the Quality Crew Chief you will:
What you'll do:
- Assigns Quality Inspectors / Technicians to perform the tasks required by the work scope and monitors performance to plan.
- Supervises the daily activities of the assigned inspectors taking necessary action to ensure that all work is completed within schedule and estimated costs.
- Directs the team for maximum efficiency and effective use of available resources including assignment of overtime as required and authorized and accurately charging labor hours appropriately.
- Ensures the use of applicable technical data, including but not limited to, the methods, techniques and practices prescribed in the current manufacturers maintenance manual.
- Ensures that inspection personnel assigned to perform the inspection tasks are qualified to perform the task and identifies training requirements.
- Monitors all work performed by the crew to ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and is airworthy.
- Ensures that required aircraft maintenance documents and forms are complete and accurate in accordance with methods of execution outlined in the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARS).
- Provides for the shift turnover requirements as outlined in the RSQCM.
- Collaborates and cooperates with the assigned maintenance manager and maintenance crew chiefs to achieve on time delivery and on budget objectives of the work scope.
- Helps management to ensure action is taken to maintain a clean & safe environment.
- Ensures that assigned crews follow adequate safety precautions and procedures, inspect equipment to ensure it meets company safety and OSHA standards.
- Supervise a continuous safety program in their area of responsibility, including operation of support equipment, aircraft systems, housekeeping and hazardous materials.
- Maintains a focus on Human Factors in the workplace and drives to zero defects in workmanship and safety.
- Supervises a crew of employees and is responsible for employee development, performance management, and discipline.
- All other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Corporate related aircraft Initial Maintenance School / verifiable experience.
- Must possess an FAA Mechanic Airframe & Powerplant Certificate and meet the requirements of that certificate as described in FAR part 65; subpart D.
- Three (3) plus years leadership experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to lead and motivate subordinates, strong problem solving, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with QC systems.
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, CFR parts 21, 25, 39, 43, 91, 119,121, 135, and 145 as required.
- A working knowledge of: Aircraft factory modifications, service bulletins, vendor information, and inspection program requirements. NDT, First Article inspections, drawings or blue prints, etc.
- Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and project management applications.
Preferred:
- Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus.
- Associates Degree in an aviation field, or aircraft maintenance related experience equivalency is a plus.
