JOB TITLE: Crew Scheduling ManagerDEPARTMENT: Flight OperationsFLSA: ExemptREPORTS TO: Director of GOCPOSITION SUMMARY The Crew Scheduling Manager is responsible for scheduling Pilots in compliance with FAA regulations and company policies, assuring that all flights are properly crewed and that legal issues are satisfied. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Build and assign monthly pilot schedule in accordance with company policies and airline regulations.
  • Prepare payroll for all crew members based on their work hours worked and rate of pay to include incentive pay and pilot expense reports.
  • Approve or deny PTO requests and assign TDY pilots based on operational needs.
  • Assign reserve pilots as needed.
  • Schedule pilot training on monthly schedules.
  • Provide staffing for ferry/charter flights.
  • Re-assign crew and/or flight legs in the event of irregular operations (IROPs).
  • Coordinate with other departments within the Company (IT, Inflight, Flight Ops, HR, GOC) to support operational reliability.
  • Provide functional expertise to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Provide research and analysis related to pilot concerns and productivity, FAR compliance, work rules.
  • Identify opportunities for process/policy improvement.
  • Calculate pilots monthly per diem.
  • Coordinate with travel department to arrange transportation and lodging for TDY pilots.
  • Ability to start up and run a crew planning department if needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Ability to deal with unexpected situations and issues in a proactive manner.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task.
  • Ability to identify problems, their sources and potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and outside normal office hours when required by operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rules and regulations of crew scheduling as it relates to the aviation industry.
  • At least 4 years of flight operational experience, including at least 2 years of scheduling.
  • Prior supervisory experience, including hiring, training, terminating.
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, various pilot scheduling software.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Computer, office equipment, phone skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays.
  • Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen as required by company and/or airline regulations.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.
