What You'll Do:
  • This Crew Supervisor will be working supervisor on a Stormwater Maintenance Crew. The employee is this position is responsible for the construction/maintenance of stormwater systems both open and closed. Primary duties include: managing multiple projects; managing and coaching team members; and other duties involving work management, documentation and personnel matters (i.e., employee development and training, etc). The selected applicant must possess knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations relating to general construction as well as confined space entry, trenching and shoring. This employee will also be responsible for ensuring that all OSHA and Water Resources Department safety rules and policies are followed for the safety of all employees. This supervisor should be familiar with standard operating procedures of underground utility construction and have the ability to install systems based on construction drawings. The employee must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form as well as and be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • To remain in this position the employee must acquire a Commercial Driver's Permit within 30 days and a valid Class A Unrestricted Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement within 180 days of employment, and also maintain good attendance. The employee in this position must maintain a reliable means of contact such as home or cellular telephone. This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

  • High School Diploma/GED with 1-3 years' experience in storm water construction or maintenance, public works, utilities, sanitary sewer, water main systems, or a related field
    • No High School Diploma/GED with 5-7 years' experience in storm water construction or maintenance, public works, utilities, sanitary sewer, water main systems, or a related field
  • Valid Driver's License;
  • An unrestricted A Commercial Driver's License ( OR the ability to obtain within 120 days of hire date); tanker endorsement.
  • Miner Certification ( OR the ability to obtain within one year.)
  • If operating forklift,a Fork Lift Operator's License. is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Foundations of Supervision (FOS) or other supervisory or lead person experience;
  • Trenching and shoring training;
  • Confined space entry training;
  • Experience using EAM software such as InforEAM or DataStream;
  • Experience in underground utilities inspection;
  • Stream restoration experience
