* Supervisor : Manager, Crewing

Purpose/Summary:

Responsible for ensuring assigned USMMI vessels are crewed in accordance with contractual requirements with mariners who are fully trained, properly licensed/qualified, physically qualified, and possessing the required security clearance. Responsible for coordinating contract required training. Responsible for maintaining all required personnel records and MSC reporting requirements as pertains to personnel. Ensures compliance with the USMMI Safety Management System as pertains to personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and coordinate logistics for medical testing and quarantine of crew in compliance with latest CDC, MSC and USMMI policy. Manage best practices for quarantine in domestic and foreign ports. Maintain latest guidance for all ports necessary for crew change.

* Ensure compliance with the current operating contract for crewing of assigned USMMI, including training.

* Execute crewing of assigned USMMI vessels in accordance with USMMI Safety Management System (SMS).

* Coordinate mariner travel for vessel assignment and training evolutions.

* Create and generate monthly crew retention, training compliance and other Crewing-related reports.

* Remain available to mariners and shore-side colleagues to help resolve scheduled training and travel emergencies 24X7 via mobile phone and other mobile communication devices.

* Maintain close working relationship with nationwide network of marine placement agencies/firms as well as civic organizations.

* Collect and process I-9 forms.

* Reconcile corporate travel credit account statement monthly. Ensure proper coding of expenses to reimbursable and non-reimbursable accounts

* Process and approve mariner expense reports, for training assignments, on/off-signing activities and wage requests, including subsistence per diem in accordance with customer operation contract requirements and USMMI SMS.

* Mailing mariner checks once processed by payroll.

* Sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and mail.

* Review monthly training budgets for assigned government contract vessels; seek most cost-effective training solutions. Have visibility in to and assure compliance with annual training budget.

* Maintain computer database of shipboard personnel and permanent personnel files for assigned USMMI vessels.

* Maintain assigned USMMI activation call list to support transition of assigned USMMI vessels from ROS to FOS.

* Maintain records and generate required reports.

* Coordinate with Ship's Master for personnel actions on assigned USMMI vessels.

* Corresponding with the applicable union to ensure the mariners meet all prerequisites.

* Coordinate mariner assigned USMMI training requirements with applicable training centers.

* Supports commitment to safety and other selected company standards and certifications

* Performs other position related duties as specified by management

Position Specifications:

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, International Logistics, or Sciences preferred; several years' experience in the maritime industry or military, or five years equivalent experience required.

Technical Skills and Competencies Required

U.S. Citizenship

Eligible for a SECRET security clearance

Excellent clerical and organizational skills

Able to work without supervision and deal with multiple tasks simultaneously

Computer literate with experience in word processing and database programs

Should be able to hear & speak clearly using phone / headset to communicate with customers; be able to navigate, view & enter information on the computer.

Operations Setting: typically, the employee must be able to Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Push/Pull, Kneel, Squat, Reaching and Twisting. Also need the ability to consistently be able to lift 10lb - 100lb utilizing Folding Hand Truck & Dolly, Rolling Utility Carts or Single Hand Trucks (70 - 100%) of time
