**Job Responsibilities:**

The Crime Analyst will work on-site at North Country Crime Analysis Center, located in Malone, NY. The Center is staffed with a team of crime analystswho support area law enforcement agencies in their efforts to track and reduce Part I Crime.

Responsibilities:

+ Collect, compile, validate, interpret and analyze data and trends using standard practices and techniques of crime and/or law enforcement intelligence analysis.

+ May perform statistical, spatial, and/or qualitative analyses as needed, making use of standard software packages.

+ Work on assignments that are moderately complex under direct or indirect supervision, where there is latitude for independent action and decision-making.

+ Prepare and deliver reports and presentations of analytic results

**Required Qualifications:**

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, or a related field plus experience in the field of criminology, criminal justice research, or criminal justice policy

**Preferred Qualifications:**

A Master's degree in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, or a related field plus 0-1 year of experience in the field of criminology, criminal justice research, or criminal justice policy.

**Job Summary:**

**Please note: This Crime Analyst position will work 100% in-person, full time at the North Country Crime Analysis Center, located at** **55 Bare Hill Road, Malone, NY 12953. This is NOT an on-campus position.**

The employee analyzes and interprets data using predictive policing methods to distill and disseminate information to various Criminal Justice agencies. The employee gathers and analyzes crime statistics and identifies criminal trends through statistical crime and mapping technologies. This position requires specialized knowledge in the field of crime analysis theories and crime analysis software.
