Hours: 37.5 weeklyLocation: Lynchburg VA, 24501Position SummaryThe CRC Program Manager will provide oversight for the clinical services of the Crisis Receiving Center (CRC). The CRC will include 23-hour observation, residential crisis stabilization, and detox services. In addition, the individual in this position will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement, hospitals, and first responders. The CRC Program Manager will provide administrator-on-duty on-call coverage (typically one [1] week per month). Initially, for approximately 8-12 months, pending the final phases of construction and the opening of the CRC, the Program Manager will assist in the planning and staffing phases for the CRC, as well as assist with crisis services in Horizon's Emergency Services department. Required Education and Experience
  • Master's degree from a program that prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hour master's program), which is offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency (§54.1-3500 of the Code of Virginia)
  • Four (4) years of relevant clinical experience providing crisis or emergency mental health services, including at least two (2) years of experience working in crisis level programs.
  • Must also have at least two (2) years supervisory experience in emergency services or other crisis level program in a mental health setting.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
  • Certified Prescreener clinician or ability to obtain within four (4) months from hire date
Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of behavior modification; cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies; psychosocial education; risk assessments; sexual offender treatment; and substance abuse interventions.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience demonstrating competence in problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and clinical competencies in providing education and training to staff.
  • Knowledge of clinical supervision requirements and techniques.
  • Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access to community resources.
  • Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities, and substance abuse.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.
  • Ability to effectively manage employee performance communicate expectations, and objectively rate performance of assigned employees.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to facilitate treatment and relay information to others as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to develop reports, create presentations, and communicate findings to both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to address performance concerns in a constructive manner.
  • Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Ability to manage a budget and stay within budget expectations.
  • Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients; provide services to clients at other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
  • Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
  • Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among coworkers and representatives in the community.
