Crossing guards must be uniformed so that motorists and pedestrians can recognize them and respond to their signals2. Crossing guards should pick opportune times to create a safe gap for crossing pedestrians3. Crossing guards must use an 18 STOP sign paddle that has STOP on both sides4.
