Position Summary/Purpose:Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents' needs.GCU maintains a partnership with Arizona Students Recycling Used Tech (AZ StRUT) located at 1720 W. Broadway Road, Suite 101, Mesa, AZ, 85202. AZ StRUT provides refurbished equipment to education and community non-profit organizations. The CSLP student worker's work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of AZ StRUT; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring).CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need. These services must be open and accessible to the community.As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).Note: All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS.Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:AZ StRUT's Refurbishing Coordinators will work out of their Mesa warehouse or CityServe location.
  • Refurbish computers which will be distributed throughout the community
  • Train and coordinate other volunteers to assist with refurbishing

  • MS Office Suite
Qualifications:
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.
  • Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
  • Previous Mentoring a plus.
  • Ability to speak a second language a plus.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Experience/Education:Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the followingeligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.Physical Requirements:
