Rotates through diagnostic radiology as assigned and performs all responsibilities outlined in the Computed Tomography (CT) Tech job description. Involved in the practice of radiation and general safety at all times.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: For West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations:1.Graduate from AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.2.Certification in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the NMTCB.3.Radiologist Technologist through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners, or applicable state where services will be performed.4.Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.5.Computed Tomography certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or NMTCB.EXPERIENCE:1. Two (2) years of computed tomography experience.For Pennsylvania locations: 1.Graduate from AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.2.Certification in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.3.Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.4.Computed Tomography certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or NMTCB.EXPERIENCE:1. Two (2) years of computed tomography experience.CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Participates in documentation and evaluation of clinical performance of student radiographers.2. Perform Daily QA procedures on all equipment.3. Completes appropriate documentation for every procedure when appropriate either on paper or in the appropriate computer system.4. Employs appropriate safety techniques for all patients and associates.5. Utilize all communication devices as necessary to perform appropriate patient care.6. May perform IV insertion/blood draws.7. Perform Diagnostic CT Exams as ordered by the physician and/or care provider and in accordance with the radiologist protocols.8. Assist the radiologist with CT Guided Interventional procedures.9. Administer IV/Oral/Rectal contrast for CT imaging procedures per radiologist protocol/department manual and ordering physician/care provider order.10. Utilize 3D Vitrea workstation per radiologist protocol and ordering physician/care provider request.11. Utilize PACS to ensure exams are completed and available for the radiologist to read and for the referring physician/care provider review.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
