Job Description:

CT Technologist - Full Time, Weekends position in the Radiology/Imaging Unit at Lutheran Health Network - Lutheran Hospital

* Sign on bonus eligible up to $35,000!

* Full Time - 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts

* Hours: Friday/Saturday/Sunday 7p to 7a (eligible for shift diff AND weekend premium!)

* Call, weekend and holiday rotation may be required

Job Summary:

* Positions adjusts and operates equipment to produce cross-sectional scans of patient's head and body for use by physician in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs.

* Assists the physician with the biopsy procedure by positioning and draping the patient, sterilizing the operative site, preparing a tray of surgical instruments, and passing instruments to the physician during the procedure.

* Marks and scans appropriate areas as needed. Images are pulled from electronic folders of PACS and directed to designated areas. Films are pulled and filed correctly and in a timely manner.

* Performs contrast media administration through the use of IV injections and oral substances for enhancement of body scan area.

* Identifies patient's problems with early-onset and obtains appropriate assistance as needed.

* Explains exam process to the patient and family members. Obtains pertinent patient history including the previous testing for correlation with the interpretation of exam films.

* Assists staff in maintaining the work area and equipment in clean and proper operating condition.

* Accurately sends images to archive for long-term storage and for immediate viewing by radiologist or ER physician.

Education:

* Successful completion of a radiological diagnostic education from an accredited program.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

* Current Indiana State Radiation Machine Operators License and current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) at the date in position

OR

* Current Radiology Student Radiation Machine Operators Permit. Indiana Radiology Student Radiation Machine Operators Permits must be replaced with an Indiana State Radiation Machine Operators License within six months of graduation from a certified Radiologic School. New graduate students must have American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration within six months of the date in position.

License/Certifications:

* Current registration from American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Computed Tomography (ARRT CT) certification within 24 months of date in position

* Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within six months of date in position
