CT Technician (Nights)
Location: Chicago, IL
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate CT Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for operating computerized tomography (CT) equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images and ensure patient safety and comfort. You will be a vital part of a dedicated team, providing exceptional service to patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics.
Schedule
- Shift: Overnight (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Shift Differential: Provided for overnight hours
- Weekends: Required every other weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment to capture diagnostic images of internal organs and tissues.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain accurate scans of specified areas.
- Conduct regular warm-up sequences on CT scanners to maintain equipment performance and prolong the life of X-ray tubes.
- Sterilize radiologic equipment to ensure patient safety.
- Accurately interpret doctors' scanning instructions to perform procedures.
- Administer radiocontrast agents to enhance the visibility of internal structures as required.
- Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and identify any need for rescheduling.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and offer reassurance and support as needed.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols to minimize risks associated with radiologic procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Radiology Director or Lead CT Technologist.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- High school diploma and either a bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology.
- Valid state license to practice as a CT Technologist.
- Proven experience as a CT Technologist.
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and operate technical equipment.
