CTE MIDDLE SCHOOL OUTREACH SPECIALIST (FULL-TIME, GRANT-FUNDED)Posting Number - S1004This position is open to - Open to All ApplicantsDepartment - Student Enrollment CenterPosition Type - ExemptEmployment Status - Full-Time-StaffSalary - $56,076.00 per 12 monthsOpen Date - 12/11/2024Close Date - 01/02/2025Open Until Filled - NoPosition Summary InformationJob Description Summary The purpose of this position is to plan and implement a system of outreach and educational exploration services and activities for students at middle schools, community partners, other College departments, and federal/state/local agencies that provide student services.This position will report to the Dean, Student Outreach & Enrollment Services, or designee.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree.Three (3) years experience in higher education.Valid Driver License with ability to obtain a Texas Driver License within 90 days of hire and be insurable by Del Mar College.Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Work requires advanced skills and knowledge in approaches and systems, and familiarity with higher education programs and/or processes.Independent judgment and decision-making abilities are necessary to apply technical skills effectively.Makes sound judgments to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed between coworkers, the supervisory chain, faculty, staff, students, and customers.Ability to perform and excel in a high-tech, all-digital environment.Strong interpersonal communication skills, presentation/written communication skills, and ability to develop and implement action plans.Strong organizational skills.Special working hours may include evenings (frequent), holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events.Preferred Qualifications Recruitment or marketing experience.Experience conducting electronic marketing campaigns and web-based marketing & advertising initiatives.Proficient with Microsoft Office, Student Information Systems, and Customer Relationship Management Systems.Proficiency using e-tools in the delivery of recruitment services.Special Instructions to Applicants This is a security-sensitive position. The College is committed to diversity in its workforce.Job DutiesDevelops and implements effective recruitment strategies to optimize student knowledge and familiarity with career and technical educational and college pathway opportunities, from dual credit to post-secondary.Provide information and assistance to middle school students regarding the higher educational processes, including endorsements to pathways, general degree information, etc. in a professional manner.Establish and maintain open communication channels between students and the Dual Enrollment Office.Maintain proper demeanor when engaging students and accurately identify any barriers in establishing goals and recommend effective resources.Assist the Director of Admissions with the development of brochures/handouts for print and web publications, and compile information for future use by students and the general public.Promptly, accurately, and professionally respond to or ensure response is given to student questions.Represents and provides essential information about the College by attending college fairs, job fairs, community events, outreach activities and other special events (such as Fantastic Voyage andtours).Coordinate with internal college faculty and/or staff and external personnel to develop and deliver outreach programs and services.Assist in the development of outreach materials.Identify, interact & develop partnerships with public and private organizations such as Independent School Districts and charter schools, PTAs, business and community organizations.Solicit participation by networking with private industry, local agencies and organizations, and other groups within the community to promote College programs.Works with Director to develop and implement recruitment communication calendar.Coordinate with Student Services departmental program area experts to address the concerns raised by middle school students and their families, internal staff, and external constituents.Maintain sufficient and necessary communications with middle school students and their families, external constituents, and internal staff/faculty.Assists with managing and maintaining website and social medial platforms, acts as liaison with Information Technology, Webmaster.Maintain and update outreach files, prepare and submit outreach reports as appropriate.Maintains the integrity of the recruitment software and student database to ensure complete accuracy for local records.Completes all required training and professional developmental sessions sponsored by the College.Serve on College, and community committees as assigned.To apply, visit:
