Department Overview

The Motorola Solutions' Chief Technology Office inspires and invents advanced new technology for our customers. Within the CTO, the System Solutions team conceives of and realizes many new end-to-end products and services. Our team includes innovative industry experts with hundreds of granted patents. Some of our recent projects include AI searching at cloud scale, license plate recognition as-a-service, and a remote drone piloting system for situational awareness. One of the opportunities our team provides is the ability to work on highly diverse projects.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated software engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our next generation of products. As part of our API-First, data-driven cloud DevOps team, you will have the opportunity to rapidly invent innovative solutions to the challenges we are tackling. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, architecting, designing, developing, and testing future systems. There are both front-end and back-end opportunities available, and you will be assigned an expert mentor to guide you on your journey.

One of our key projects focuses on real-time processing of video and audio media to extract valuable insights and actionable intelligence for Public Safety and security professionals. The goal is to enable quick searching and analysis of billions of detected images across thousands of cameras in less than a second.

In emergency situations, precise indoor location information is crucial for responders. Our second project involves fusing data from multiple sensors to provide real-time indoor location services. You will have the opportunity to leverage the latest technology and methods to pinpoint the location of those in need.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand the business requirements and strategy, and translate them into technology capabilities.
  • Architect and design scalable cloud systems to meet the needs of our projects.
  • Participate in feature engineering activities to enhance customer workflows.
  • Design, develop, implement, and test back-end services, containers, and pods.
  • Integrate state-of-the-art AI solutions into our systems.
  • Utilize cutting-edge testing techniques to measure the performance of your software.
  • Design and develop pipeline automation to streamline our development processes.

Basic Requirements:

  • Experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with testing strategies and execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with API-First development and cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
