Job Description:Position Title: Culinary Front of House Service Staff
Position Type: Part-Time

Compensation Range: $13.85 - $20.77
Position SummaryEleven at Crystal Bridges specializes in modern American comfort food. Our Front of House Service Staff exhibits exemplary service to guests while supporting the Museum's strategy of Welcoming, Invigorating, and Excellence in order to leave a lasting positive and dynamic impression.Front of House Service Staff duties may include:
- Lunch Server
- Dinner Server
- Barista (Must be at least 21 years of age)
- Bartender (Must be at least 21 years of age)
- Special Event Server
- Server Assistant
- Host/Hostess
Hourly rate of pay will correspond to the role performed. Employees will be expected to accurately clock in and out according to assigned shift.
Principle Responsibilities (Essential Functions)- Maintain basic knowledge of Crystal Bridges' collections, history, and events
- Maintain thorough knowledge of restaurant's hours of operation, services, menus, specials, and Edible Responsibility
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in dining areas
- Record and manage reservations according to Eleven's policy
- Provide an atmosphere that evokes the Museum's mission of Excellence, Welcoming, and Invigorating
- Provide Total Team Service allowing for consistency in guest satisfaction by continually observing both quality in food and service
- Complete all assigned opening and closing duties as required
Lunch Server Duties- Cashier
- Welcome guests with enthusiasm
- Take beverage and food orders
- Process payments
- Fill beverage orders
- Provide trays, silverware, and guidance to dining room
- Runner
- Guide guests towards cashier
- Assist guests in dining room
- Provide beverage refills
- Ensure that all food is prepared properly and delivered in a timely manner by communicating and working with other staff members
- Pre-bus as needed and clear tables for next guests
- Show appreciation to guests as they leave
- Other
- Set-up and breakdown of dining room
- As assigned
Dinner Server Duties- Welcome guests with enthusiasm in a timely manner
- Describe specials and suggest items on the menu
- Assist with questions and decisions regarding the menu
- Accurately take beverage and food orders
- Ensure that all food and beverages are prepared properly and are delivered in a timely manner by communicating and working with other members of staff
- Provide refills and pre-bussing
- Continually observe guests and provide service complimentary to their needs
- Total guest's bill and accept and process payments
- Show appreciation to guests as they leave
- Work as a team with hosts, servers, service assistants, and manager by providing assistance as needed
- Setup and breakdown of dining room
- Other duties as assigned
Barista Duties- Using specialized coffee bar equipment, accurately prepare exceptional coffee beverages according to Eleven's recipes
- Take and prepare guest orders and process payments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well stocked workspace and storage area
- Monitor product freshness and quality at all times
- Stock and maintain pastry and grab-n-go display case in a way that enhances our products
- Assist service staff by preparing coffee beverages during lunch and dinner services
- Open, pour, and serve beer and wine
- Other duties as assigned
Bartender Duties- Accurately prepare cocktails according to Eleven's recipes
- Open, pour and serve wine
- Open and serve beer
- Prepare and maintain garnishes
- Maintain a clean bar and work area to ensure safety in bar, service, and dining areas
- Polish and stock glassware
- Clean all bar utensils and equipment
- Arrange bottles and glassware for an attractive display
- Maintain freshness of open wines
- Assist service staff by providing accurate information regarding liquor, beer, or wine
- Assist service staff by delivering drinks to guests
- Monitor alcohol consumption per table to ensure a safe level of intake by the guests
- Other duties as assigned
Special Event Server Duties- Greet guests with enthusiasm
- Assist in the setting and maintaining of buffets
- Assist with a variety of place settings
- Provide tray service for both beverages and food
- Assist with questions and decisions regarding the menu
- Take beverage and food orders (Bar back for special events must be 21 years of age or older)
- Ensure that all food and beverages are prepared properly and are delivered in a timely manner by communicating and working with other members of staff
- Provide refills and pre-bussing
- Continually observe guests and provide service complimentary to their needs.
- Perform bussing duties as needed

- Assist in set-up, clean-up and breakdown of event area

Sever Assistant Duties- Welcome guests with enthusiasm
- Clear and reset tables according to Eleven's specifications
- Clear plates and utensils as guests finish their courses
- Assist in completing running side work
- Assist servers by delivering food and providing beverage refills
- Assist Back of the House by restocking clean plates, silverware, and glasses
- Setup and breakdown of dining room
- Other duties as assigned
Host/Hostess- Welcome guests in a warm and professional manner
- Provide seating to guests as per organized seating chart
- Organize and prepare reservations
- Properly maintain front desk so that will remain stocked and effective throughout the entire shift
- Ensure guests are seated in an order that does not overload the service staff
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout shift and provide for guests' needs
- Assist service staff in various tasks to ensure dining room efficiency
- Bring any and all complaints/compliments to the attention of management
- Remain in constant communication with management, service staff, and kitchen staff in regards to customer flow
- Communicate specials and menu changes to guests as well as other marketing strategies
- Assist server assistants with the clearing and resetting of tables as needed
- Manage a responsible wait list
- Show appreciation to guests as they leave the restaurant
- Maintain clean menus
- Setup and breakdown of dining room
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum QualificationsEducation, Training, and Traits:- Must be 19 years of age or older (Bartender and Barista must be at least 21 years of age)
- Excellent people skills and an outgoing personality
- Possess a strong commitment to customer service
- Highest ethics in regard to honesty, integrity, and work ethic
- First-hand knowledge of service steps and dining room procedures
Work Experience:- Experience with customer service in a hospitality environment
- Previous experience required for Bartender, Barista and Host/Hostess positions.
Skills and Abilities:- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Must be able to move quickly, stand, bend, and lift for periods of up to 4 hours
- Ability to carry large, heavy trays
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism with both co-workers and Museum Guests
- Possess strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills

- Work environment: The physical arrangement of the work space may require the position to work in a variety of Museum spaces. Work space must be organized and reflect efficiency. The noise level in the dining environment is usually moderate.
