Department The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art is located in Sarasota, Florida, and is a department of Florida State University . Learn more about The Ringling at . Responsibilities Typical responsibilities:
  • Provides administrative support, maintains budgetary and financial information for the Performance and Curatorial department.
  • Monitors all budgets and reconciles expenses including expenditures and invoicing.
  • Directs new vendors in how to be established in payment systems, submits contracts, makes purchases, and prepares associated documentation. Assists the Performance team with VISA processing and required procedures for appropriate payment of foreign performers/artists.
  • Arranges guest and staff travel, accommodations, payment, per diem, and assists with artist services and tasks related to fulfillment of contractual obligations.
  • Serves as point of contact for Curatorial and Performance in the preparation and distribution of interdepartmental communications.
As Needed:
  • Supports administrative and operational needs of the Historic Asolo Theater
  • Creates workorders and responds to or directs external inquires related to exhibitions, performances, and collections.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned, including performing administrative duties for other departments at the museum.
Skills important to this role include:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain a budget
  • Effective communication skills including verbal and written
  • Ability to problem solve.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency and four years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.
    • Note: Higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in the arts and interpreting theatrical union rules and federal immigration/VISA regulations

Considerations Rate of Pay: $36,250 - $40,000 + based on the education, skills, and experience of the selected candidate.
