Curriculum & Assessment Specialist - Prevention Initiative BASE WAGE $25.98-$28.58 per hour based on education level. JOB TYPE Full-TimeDESCRIPTIONThe Prevention Initiative program, part of SAL Community Services, is the Quad Cities area's leading provider of early childhood care and education. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment centered on how playing can charge the mind of the children we care for.The Curriculum and Assessment Specialist is responsible for development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curricula and assessments that align with program goals. The Curriculum and Assessment Specialist will work closely with program administrators, educators, and stakeholders to ensure educational interventions are effective in addressing the needs of target populations. The Curriculum and Assessment Specialist ensures compliance with relevant standards, monitors program outcomes, and provides training for staff/providers on the use of curriculum and assessment. The Prevention Initiative Program is an Illinois State Board of Education grant funded program. You will:
  • Assist in the maintenance of educational materials for classrooms/family childcare homes, teachers/providers and resources for Family Advocates.
  • Conduct monthly observations and evaluations of the program classrooms and family childcare provider environments to ensure they are following Prevention Initiative requirements.
  • Work with Prevention Initiative team to develop and facilitate family education activities/family events scheduled by programs for families in the Prevention Initiative program.
  • Support teacher/providers to meet children's individual needs based on their age and stage of development, identified social-emotional concerns/diagnoses, or individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Analyze assessment methods which demonstrate children's overall strengths, progress, and development. Assessments must be regularly maintained and up to date.

Requests for reasonable accommodation as required under applicable law will be considered.Education and ExperienceRequired: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child and Family Services, Elementary Education, Social Work, Psychology, or other related field of study. One year experience with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting. Preferred: Master's degree.
