Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position consistently and successfully.
  • Collaborative Curriculum Development and Educational Support
    • Assist in writing lesson plans for SummitUP.
    • Participate in and lead (as opportunities arise) curriculum-focused committees by actively engaging and completing any related assigned tasks.
    • Assist educational coordinators in completing new student assessments and reassessments as needed.
    • Assist in systematic review of existing lesson plans and curriculum and contribute to plan revisions.
    • Complete all documentation necessary associated with lesson plan and curriculum updates completed.
  • Management and Development of Supplementary Instructional Materials
    • Ensure that all supplementary curricular materials are developed and made available to staff, and ensure materials are stocked as needed.
    • Develop supplemental parent handouts for each lesson to allow parents/caregivers to carry over skills into the home.
  • Assessment Management and Administration Support
    • Ensure that the SummitUp assessment includes all relevant items, including assessment items for all newly added lesson plans.
    • Assist in developing administration instructions for the assessment.
    • Maintain multiple assessment materials kits.
    • Assist with administering assessments for all other curricula adopted by Summit.
  • Curriculum Implementation and Staff Training
    • Maintain knowledge of all end-user functionality and back-end administrative processes for SummitUp.
    • Serve as the primary staff trainer for all curricula (including new hire training) Summit Academy uses with support of Curriculum Coordinator
    • Work with educational coordinators to ensure fidelity of implementation of adopted curricula
    • Provide support in classrooms to model delivery of instruction as appropriate/needed
    • Provide training to new hires monthly
    • Revise and update new hire module content as needed
    • Complete Discrete Trial Training fidelities for new hires and provide in vivo training as needed
    4. SummitUp Software Support and Management
    • Triage all support calls for SummitUp to the appropriate party (internal IT department and/or software developer) and follow up with Academy staff members regarding resolutions in a timely manner.
    • Coordinate version testing prior to new releases of the software
    • Ensure updates and changes to software are functioning appropriately, in conjunction with Curriculum Coordinator
    • Communicate updates and changes to end-user functionality to all Academy Staff Members.
    5. Data Management and Reporting for Classroom Standards
    • Manage and organize staff performance data and documents relative to the Classroom Standards
    • Generate and share Classroom Standards reports and data with supervising Educational Coordinator and/or Curriculum Coordinator and Principal/Assistant Principal
    • Compile and share research related to best practice in the area of academic/social instruction and curriculum for individuals with developmental disabilities
    • Collect and summarize data on the efficacy of training, in conjunction with the Curriculum Coordinator
    6. Program Evaluation, Data Analysis and Management
    • Assist with identifying or work to develop reliable/valid measures of student performance in identified programs
    • Develops and maintains a program evaluation schedule to be implemented for all programs throughout the agency.
    • Oversee completion, scoring and analysis of all evaluation measures (including purchasing, scheduling, training staff)
    • Prepare quantitative data files to include evaluating the quality of the data and describing its structure, overseeing data entry procedures, identifying ways to validate data and enhancing quality control of data
    • Summarize evaluation results regularly (but at least quarterly) and submit to supervisor. Define schedule for results and process for disseminating.
    • Maintain archival records of all measures for future comparison/research.
    7. Research Strategy Development, Collaboration, and Implementation
    • In collaboration with the CEO, President, Superintendent, and Curriculum Coordinator, establish a five-year research agenda for Summit (focusing on large-scale research projects)
    • Develop annual targets for research grants and presentations
    • Interpret and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques
    • Serve as Chairperson of Summit's Institutional Review Board (IRB) and ensure that all research projects are compliant with subject protection and informed consent
    • Organize and conduct Summit research meetings
    • Recruit and support others to conduct research, present at professional conferences, and publish
    • In conjunction with the President, Superintendent and Curriculum Coordinator, translates research results into practices that can be implemented to improve existing programs and services at Summit
    8. Research Collaboration and Partnership Development
    • Serves as a liaison between Summit and i's research partners/collaborators
    • Maintain college and university relationships
    • Seek faculty and students from colleges and universities to conduct applied research and create a climate for research
    9. Code of Ethics and Employee Conduct

    • Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor.
    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of position skill and/or ability required.
    • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - master's degree or higher in Special Education or Curriculum and Instruction required. BCBA or LBA preferred. Direct clinical or educational experience with children or young adults with developmental disabilities. Must demonstrate knowledge and competencies in curriculum development and applied behavioral analysis and have solid technical skills.
    • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Etc. Certification as a Special Education Teacher, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Behavior Analyst or as a School Building Leader required.
