SALARY: LEVEL 2 on the Custodial/Grounds/Warehouse Salary Schedule. Experience increments depend on experience in the same or similar permanent position within a Washington State public school. Click here to view current salary schedule for this position. Responsibilities
  • Follow expectations outlined in the cleaning and sanitization procedures manual and observe all safety rules and regulations, to ensure a safe and sanitized site for Students and District staff.
  • Duties may include one or more of the following: sweeping, vacuuming and mopping of floors as needed; moving furniture and equipment; dusting, washing furniture/fixtures/flooring/windows, cleaning gutters and drains, operating cleaning equipment, replacing lights, and sanitizing health areas (i.e. bathrooms, locker rooms, drinking fountains, health room).
  • Maintenance of sidewalks and blacktop areas to include watering lawn, weeding garden beds, clearing of snow off sidewalks and steps, and de-icing hard surface areas using snow equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning of boiler, observe running of boiler and know basic boiler operation.
  • May oversee 1-2 site custodial staff, including training and coaching staff in safety procedures, proper cleaning methods, use of supplies and equipment, and addresses performance concerns.
  • Responsible for securing building and performing crisis plan procedures.
  • Monitor building site events schedule, coordinate and perform event setup and support.
  • Other related duties as assigned by head custodian, supervisor, or site administrator.
  • Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, climb ladders, and perform various types of labor in eight-hour shift.
  • Proven ability to read, write, and comprehend operational instructions and write applicable reports.
  • Available for contact in the event of an emergency, and ability to work after hours as requested.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and chemicals safety and disposal procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with scheduling and work order system.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and confidentially with a diverse group of staff and students.
  • First Aid Card required.
  • Working Conditions:Requires prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, crawling and other physical exertion. Work on ladders and on low slope and flat roofs, lift and carry heavy supplies, materials and equipment. Possible exposure to elevated noise levels and potentially dangerous conditions. Required to wear protective gear, work outdoors in inclement weather. Requires safety awareness at all times. Additional Information

  • Stipends, Leave Accruals and Holidays - Stipends, leaves and paid holidays are in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement () as negotiated.
