RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct in-depth daily assessments of all theatre properties:
- Ensure the cleaning requirements are properly maintained, and all theatre custodians' duties are performed satisfactorily
- Report inefficiencies to Management, and participate in offering corrective actions and/or progressive discipline meetings as may be necessary
- Assist in the evaluation of cleaning products and related safety procedures
- Maintain seasonal oversight and supervision of snow/ice removal by staff or vendor
- Assist in identifying/reporting potential facility issues that may need attention
- Manage front-of-house staff uniform supply; ordering/inventory/distribution
- Theatre employee relations:
- Take the lead in managing and directing substitute coverage across chain of theatres
- Assist Departmental Supervisors with placing out of work Local 306 and 32BJ members in available substitute positions (when theatres may be temporarily dark, to enable work continuity)
- Maintain a Substitute custodial employee list in cooperation with Labor Relations
- Maintain Sub-usher employee list; coordinate ongoing needs with multiple Head ushers
- Track attendance records for all theatre custodians and assist in administration of such
- Conduct regular individual/group Head Usher meetings
- Provide additional Operational support for all Opening Nights/Special Events
- Coordinate and implement training
- Manage Stage Door Security trainings
- Oversee ongoing Ambassador (Customer Service) and De-escalation trainings
- Assist in training and/or re-training of theatre custodians, and with the onboarding/orientation of new-hire Substitute Ushers, as needed
- Coordinate bi-annual Safety/Emergency Evacuation Plan meetings for each theatre
- Miscellaneous administrative duties relative to above duties, including:
- Seek cost efficiencies through oversight of custodial supply stock, management and final supply purchase approval for each theatre
- Reduce overtime wherever possible
- Management of MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheets) Data for all theatres per OSHA requirements
- Other related responsibilities as may be required
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum, 2 years' experience in supervisory management of custodial services or hospitality, with knowledge of cleaning equipment and techniques
- Experience managing a unionized workforce and/or working knowledge of Local 32BJ (preferred)
- Ability to take direction and offer clear, effective work direction to diverse staff
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and vendors
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable with public speaking/presentation of training
- Comfortability with computers (Word, Excel, Outlook), and willingness to learn new programs
- Bi-lingual Spanish (preferred)
