Duties and Responsibilities:
* Supervise the custodial services.
* Schedule work and ensure work complies with specifications.
* Monitor building services operations in compliance with local, state and federal codes and guidelines.
* Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff or assist with such processes. Complete required paperwork, maintenance records/work orders.
* Process leave requests.
* Assist with determining technical training needs.
* Assist and advise matters related to custodial services.
* Assist supervisor with special projects. Supervise the completion of special projects. Fill in for supervisor as needed.
* Deliver inventory and assess inventory needs in individual units.
* Assist other physical plant departments/units as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Knowledge of cleaning methods, custodial services, operations, and equipment Knowledge of inventory control techniques Knowledge of acceptable supervisory practices
* Knowledge of acceptable custodial and maintenance practices
* Skill in safety operating, maintaining, and repairing various types of custodial and cleaning equipment
* Skill in planning, organizing and overseeing the work of subordinates
* Skill in maintaining adequate supplies and inventory records
* Skill in conducting inspections to determine compliance with standards
* Ability to work weekends and evenings as deemed necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
* Completion of sufficient education or training to read and write simple instruction
* Three (3) years of experience in custodial services
* Must be able to meet the University vehicle liability policy requirements and have a current driver's license.
