Position Description
Provides daily routine janitorial services to MetroParks' facilities and performs basic grounds maintenance.
Duties/Responsibilities

* Performs various custodial tasks to maintain buildings.Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and kitchen areas. Dusts fixtures and furnishings. Vacuums, sweeps, mops, waxes and buffs floors. Cleans glass and windows, drinking fountains, walls, doors, stairs, handrails and other fixtures. Inspects building interiors and other public areas for cleanliness and maintenance needs.
* Sets up rooms for various meetings and functions.
* Opens and closes gates to secure park areas.
* Performs simple mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical maintenance work as required.
* Uses computers to record activity hours, time sheets, performance reviews and task sheets.
* Works assigned schedules, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedules as required.
* Provides service to the public, responding to questions, offering assistance, and providing information.
* Collaborates internally, within and across departmental boundaries, to provide information and service to others in the organization to contribute to the effective operation of the agency and all staff.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A combination of appropriate education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:
* High school degree or GED or six months of custodial experience.
* Valid Drivers' License which meets Five Rivers MetroParks' insurance carrier guidelines.
