Stokes US CourthouseShift: Monday-Friday, 5:00am-1:00pm , Some weekends for project work as requiredFLSA: NonexemptThe General Custodian / Floor Technician will be responsible for completing the following job duties:
- Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.
- Keeps floors of commercial facilities in clean and orderly condition.
- Sweeps, Strips, clean buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors.
- Vacuum and shampoo rugs and carpeted areas of the facility.
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, etc.
- Responsible for completing all tasks assigned in the specified allotted time and for ensuring a high level of quality in all tasks performed.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
- Take care of safety precautions in the area so as to not cause any injuries to people walking on the floors or yourself.
- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
- Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns. Handle recycling materials.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs and sanitizes bathrooms.
- Refill restroom dispensers.
- Operate a power vacuum.
- Must select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios and use proper techniques for the area cleaned.
- Follow all manufacturers recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.
- Properly stock cart.
- Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
- Follow all instructions of the Account Manager.
- Follow the daily job routine in the order it is outlined.
- Use the correct step-by-step procedures for each cleaning task.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
- Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
- Ensure a level of cleanliness which meets the quality expectations of the customer.
- Maintain all equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly fashion.
- Regular attendance.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.
- Responsible for following agency safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
Snow Crew Job Duties:
- Remove Snow with Shovels and/or snow blowers.
- Remove snow in all outdoor walkways, sidewalks, stairways, doorways and steps.
- Carry bags of salt from storeroom to needed location.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
- Inform the Project Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
- Maintain all equipment and supplies in an orderly fashion.
- Always interact with fellow employees, customers and members of the public in a courteous and friendly manner.
Qualifications
- Prior floor experience preferred
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by site.
- Previous custodial experience preferred.
- Experience riding ATV preferred but not required.
