Custodial Worker IPT)GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIESThe purpose of this position is to assist in the maintenance of parks for the city of Bristol, Tennessee Parks and Recreation Department. Performs custodial duties, groundskeeping and repair for buildings, parks, athletic fields and other facilities. Ensures a safe, pleasant experience for residents and visitors of Bristol.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position. Maintains parks and facilities: changes and updates electrical equipment, plumbing and fencing; repairs water lines and clears drains; changes locks and doorknobs. Assists in the installation and repair of all drainage systems and supply water lines. Performs grounds maintenance for White Top Creek Park and all other City grounds; mows, trims, maintains trees, and performs other landscaping duties. Completes custodial duties in City buildings, including cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing. Removes debris and changes trash can liners throughout the parks and facilities. Performs general maintenance, including painting, pressure washing, snow removal, building inspections, etc. Performs other related duties as required.MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED, supplemented by one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a custodial, grounds crew or maintenance position, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures. Excellent work history and attendance record. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
