2024/25 school year. Positions begins August 26, 2024Job Grade 1086.0 hours per dayESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students, and the general public.
  • Adhere to and enforce district, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform facility and equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance functions, including repair, part replacement (including ballasts), and adjustment tasks.
  • Perform custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, washing walls, and changing light bulbs and lighting tubes.
  • Perform emergency cleanup service resulting from breakage, vandalism, spilling, and illness.
  • Maintain grounds.
  • Train and instruct substitute and temporary personnel in the performance of cleaning and facility maintenance functions.
    • Prepare supply, material, and equipment requests in maintaining an adequate operational inventory.
  • One year of experience in skilled custodial work.

• QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of:
  • Methods, procedures, materials, and equipment utilized in cleaning and maintaining a variety of surfaces, equipment, and special purpose activity centers;
  • General building maintenance;
  • Safe working methods and procedures;
  • Policies, regulations, and operational guidelines pertaining to the cleaning and maintenance of large school buildings, offices, and facilities.
  • Ability to:
  • Effectively maintain work schedules toward the accomplishment of assigned tasks;
  • Perform light to moderately heavy manual activities;
  • Effectively lead part-time or temporary custodial personnel and provide technical input into their work performance;
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions;
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill could be:
  • Experience:
  One year of experience in skilled custodial work.
  • Education:
  High School diploma or GED
