Work hours 3:30 p.m.-12:00 a.m. Monday-Friday. Subject to change based on the needs of the College. Full benefits package available.Position SummaryUnder the daily supervision of the Building Maintenance Superintendent and the general supervision of the Director, Branch Campus Finance & Operations, performs custodial duties necessary to the care, cleaning and maintenance of buildings, furniture and fixtures. Responds to emergencies as needed. Essential Functions Maintains floor care. Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips and refinishes floor surfaces and stairwells. Vacuums and shampoos carpets.Maintain vacuums and other equipment used, including emptying, cleaning and changing belts and bags.Clean and disinfect all restroom and shower surfaces. Services drains and restocks paper products.Cleans blinds, windows, floors, doors, computer equipment, blackboards and whiteboards in classrooms, offices, laundry rooms or others rooms. Replaces chalk and cleans or replaces erasers. Dusts or polishes desk tops or other furnishings.Collect and remove trash and recyclables to proper disposal areas. Assist in maintaining recycling collection containers and areas.Properly handles chemical cleaning supplies and uses all proper personal protective equipment.Replaces burned out lights and reports bad fixtures. Responds to emergencies.Cleans and details stairs, hallways, elevators, vending areas, microwaves, loading docks, washing rags and mop heads as needed.Sweep and/or shovel snow and apply ice remover around building entrances, exits and loading docks.Lift and move furniture, supplies and equipment.Take down and/or rehang and clean curtains and/or blinds.Locks and unlocks all interior and exterior doors and sets and deactivates alarm systems as needed.Reports items for repair and supply needs to supervisor. Restocks supplies in service closets as needed.Clean and service smoking urns and ash trays.Assists in set up and tear down for special campus functions, including events, graduation, special concerts, conferences, meetings, etc.Report any suspicious persons or events, or any missing items.Assists other Plant Operations and Maintenance staff members as required.This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive, individual will perform other related duties as assigned.
