Learn more at GCE.org.Overview: This position is responsible for safely performing janitorial duties as assigned by management. Quality service is expected to be provided to customers at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job as it pertains to this position. Role Requirements: Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract. Understand oral and/or written instructions. Interact appropriately with customers, government personnel and staff members. Must be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate. Essential Functions: Sweep, vacuum, and/or mop flooring. Scrub tile and concrete floors. Empty trash cans and deposit trash in appropriate receptacles. Clean ground level interior and exterior glass windows and doors. Dust accessible surfaces and furniture. Clean baseboards, vents and door jams. Clean restroom: sinks, counters, toilets, urinals, dispensers, etc. Clean and sanitize break rooms, common areas, kitchen areas to include: sinks, counters, microwave, refrigerator, tables, chairs, etc. Police grounds for trash and debris. Comply with the training of chemical use: mixing, storage, and appropriate disposal. Physical Requirements:May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. May work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours as well weekends and Holidays. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. May be required to remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow shovels or snow plows.
