Location: Gorham, MainePay: $18 an hourJob Summary: The Custodian II position provides general cleaning of assigned facilities in accordance with the Agency and/or contract specifications. The Custodian II position is expected to: •Maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas such as restrooms, offices and hallways; dust counters, furniture, windowsills and other surfaces; empty trash containers; sweep, mop and wax floors and/or vacuums and cleans rugs and carpets; wash windows, walls, toilets, sinks, and fixtures using proper cleaning agents. •Fill soap dispensers, refill paper towel racks and distribute toilet paper and other supplies as necessary. •Recycle paper, aluminum cans, cardboard, and other recyclable materials at assigned site(s), where applicable. •Maintain outside areas including sweeping sidewalks, parking lots, driveways, and entrance areas; maintain lawns; pick up debris from the grounds and perform snow removal. •Maintain floors and carpets by operating high and low speed scrubbers and carpet extractors. •Maintain security of the building by being able to secure/lock the facility and set the alarm. •Comply with federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations; complies with Agency policies and respects the confidentiality of customers and persons served. •Contribute to team effort by accomplishing group-oriented goals and providing support and information to other employees and managers as needed. •Maintain equipment to ensure that it is operating properly. •Perform other relevant duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: •High school diploma preferred but not required, •Ability to work independently and to follow directions with limited supervision •Ability to engage in physical activity including standing, walking, descending stairs. •Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. •Ability to use broom, mop and vacuum as applicable. •Ability to work as a member of a team. •Maintain a high standard of personal appearance. •Successful completion of a background check that meets Agency standards. •Maintain a high standard of personal appearance.
