Custodian/Janitor/Shop Cleaner

Hourly Rate: $17/hour Company: Growing and relocating to a brand-new facility Shift: 1st Shift 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Summary: The Custodian/Janitor is responsible for keeping the building and surrounding grounds clean and well-maintained. Duties include cleaning floors, sanitizing restrooms, handling garbage and recycling, and ensuring a clean, safe environment in the shop, offices, and outdoor areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum various floor types (wood, tile, linoleum)
• Empty garbage cans and manage waste disposal
• Clean windows and change air filters
• Dust and wipe down all surfaces
• Wax and buff floors as needed
• Maintain and order cleaning supplies
• Manage inventory through the MRO system
• Use commercial cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout the workday
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions
• Problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
• Good communication skills

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that involve climbing, bending, or crawling into tight spaces

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Perform other duties as needed or directed
