JobsRUs.com is hiring several Custodians in St Albans, VT.Shift: Second Shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm), Monday - FridaySalary: Up to $25 per hour, depending on experiencePossible temp to permanent positionsCustodian Summary: As a Custodian, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of school facilitiesDuties include cleaning floors, walls, and glass, as well as handling recycling and trash removalAdditionally, you'll assist in maintaining building exteriors by clearing snow and debrisIf you're detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to creating a clean environment for students and staff, we want to hear from you.Custodian Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1Clean, wax, and organize assigned areas such as lunchrooms, gymnasiums, restrooms, and classroomsArrange furniture and equipment as needed.2Collect and remove recyclables and trash from designated areas.3Maintain exterior building areas by mowing, trimming, and clearing debrisClear snow and ice from entrances, walkways, and parking lots.4Monitor building security by checking appliances and equipment for proper operationIdentify maintenance and repair needsSecure building at the end of each operating day.5Handle chemicals, cleaning solutions, and power equipment safely and according to regulationsDispose of hazardous waste properly.6Assist with annual building openings and closings according to established protocols.7Support staff as needed with custodial tasks.8Perform other custodial, building, and grounds responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/foreman.9Oversee special events as required, ensuring facilities meet event needs.Custodian Qualifications:• Able to submit and pass a background check and go for fingerprinting $35 out of pocket expense.• Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and power tools safely.• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to chemical handling.• Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.• Flexibility to work second shift and occasional weekends for special events.How to Apply: If you're ready to make a difference in your community by ensuring safe and clean school environments, apply now
