Under the supervision of your facilities Building Head or Lead you are responsible for the cleaning of facilities at a high standard to provide a safe and healthy environment. You must be self-motivated, be able to problem solve and respond appropriately to different situations.Job Responsibilities:
- Sweeps, mops, and polishes in rooms and halls.
- Dusts and/or polishes furniture, blinds and equipment.
- Cleans restrooms and fills dispensers.
- Vacuums, spot cleans and/or shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture using commercial vacuum cleaners and shampoo equipment.
- Reports malfunctions or damage of all items related to their facilities interior or exterior to their supervisor.
- Stocks area with appropriate supplies.
- Locks and unlocks doors as directed.
- Moves furniture, equipment or fixtures as required.
- Works in unison with all custodial staff and Facilities Services staff at their designated facility.
- Actively supports teamwork but able to work alone as well.
- May shovel and remove snow and ice from designated areas such as sidewalks, entryways and roofs as required.
- May replace light bulbs.
- May perform operations and checks of HVAC systems and changing of filters.
- May perform light maintenance work as assigned by supervisor or Facility Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Facility Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in custodial cleaning in commercial or institutional facilities
Hours of Work:The position is Monday - Friday. During the school year and throughout the summer, the hours during the school year for Elementary Schools are 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. The High Schools and Middle School hours are 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. In the summer all custodial staff will work from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Positions may allow for overtime hours for duties such as evening events and could include weekends. Physical Demands:
- This is a Heavy-Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Heavy Duty involves exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds continuously to move objects.
