ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.May be exposed to cleaning products with chemicals. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment. Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies. May set up furniture for events. Available for weekend work, on-call duties, and after-hours emergency requests as needed. Occasionally support other departments and complete maintenance duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS:
Six months or more of related experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Ability to report and record maintenance requests. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Medium work. Exerting 50 pounds of force rarely, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- The worker may be subject to noise.
- Frequently subject to environmental conditions - heat and humidity both inside and outside. May also be exposed to cleaning supplies.
- Ability to: stand, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching frequently throughout the work shift; occasionally ascends/ descends a ladder; walking on a variety of uneven surfaces and climbing stairs frequently; have visual acuity to determine safety and cleanliness of facility; receive information through sound as well as express through spoken word; read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents; frequently working with chemicals and cleaning supplies.

This position is a third shift position. This shift is usually after hours, but shift hours could change based on programming or special events.
