Working in a diverse and inclusive environment the custodian performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled duties in the routine maintenance of County buildings. This is a full-time, benefited position. This position will work Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 1:30am and Friday 4:30pm - 10:30pm. This position will work throughout various locations in Boulder County, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work. Hiring Salary Range: $48,312.00 - $52,380.00 AnnuallyTentative Hiring Timeline: First Round Interviews: October 28thReference Check: October 25thNew employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month. Examples of Duties1. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors2. Washes windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls and ceilings3. Cleans and disinfects restrooms4. Dusts, sanitizes and vacuums offices and meeting rooms5. Locks and unlocks doors, secures work area6.Collects and disposes of trash, recycle and compostable material7. Shampoos and extracts carpets8. Performs related work as required or directed by supervisor9. Site and work assignments are based on need and can change at any time10. Performs related work, as required 11. Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time. Ability to work effectively and professionally with other employees. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Back and Upper Body (lifting): Constant vacuuming and mopping. Occasionally lift 40 lb. buckets of water to 29 inches. Frequently lift trash containers 5-40 lbs. from floor to 36 inches. Occasionally carry 40 lbs. for 200 feet. Push or pull carts, dollies, buffers, etc. at forces of 20 pounds. Occasionally (three times per month), move office furniture, equipment of 80-100 lbs. (two man lift).Hands/Arms (repetitive motion): Constant use of hands, arms, and elbows including surface and overhead cleaning and wiping. Body Movement:Daily climb stairs and, reach overhead, and work in unusual squatting or kneeling positions. Occasionally work on knees.
