A Day in the Life of the Custodian

As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in ensuring the YMCA facilities are clean, safe, and functional. You'll perform cleaning tasks, manage seasonal duties like snow removal, and help maintain a welcoming environment for members. Your work will directly support the YMCA's mission of promoting community well-being and safety.

Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning and sanitizing areas, including mopping, dusting, and trash removal
• Maintaining the grounds (e.g., snow removal, lawn care)
• Basic maintenance of equipment and pool cleaning
• Setting up for events and meetings
• Reporting and addressing repair needs
• Replenishing supplies (e.g., soap, paper towels)
• Following safety standards and YMCA policies

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Six months of custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety protocols
• Ability to read and follow instructions
