Under immediate supervision and direction, custodians perform custodial work for the general maintenance of university buildings and related work as required. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities:Perform cleaning in all areas of a building and floor areas such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing Clean bathrooms and refill supplies Collect trash from receptacles and empty into designated areas Lock and unlock doors as required Clean porches, entrances and windows of buildings Clean, store and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment Serve as on-call personnel to assist in emergency clean up Perform other related duties as assigned Minimum Job Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. No previous work experience is necessary. Must have the ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
