FERNANDINA BEACH MIDDLE SCHOOL 1 Custodian 12 months/8 hours daily RANGE OF PAY: $15.10/hr - $16.61/hr (Additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually. For the 2024-2025 school year, the amount to be determined by NESPA bargaining and ratification and will be prorated from July 1, 2024. The amount for the 2023-2024 school year was $4800.00) QUALIFICATIONS:

High School or GED Diploma.

Physically able to perform assigned duties.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: *(01) Maintain a working knowledge of methods, materials and equipment needed to complete assigned tasks. *(02) Develop and maintain a working knowledge for the care of all assigned equipment. *(03) Perform heavy cleaning activities (scrub, mop, wax, polish, dust, wash windows, etc.) as assigned. *(04) Complete work on schedule and according to established standards. *(05) Receive, account for and distribute materials and supplies as directed. *(06) Move furniture and equipment as directed. *(07) Report and / or complete minor repairs as directed. *(08) Report all damage and major repairs to supervisor immediately. *(09) Assume responsibility for unlocking / securing facilities as assigned. *(10) Work with a variety of chemicals, some of which may be mixed by self for use. *(11) Read and interpret manuals for use and maintenance of equipment. *(12) Mow grass and perform other routine care of grounds as assigned. (13) Attend in-service training sessions on custodial related subjects. (14) Use effective, positive interpersonal communication skills. (15) May be required to wear respirator for some tasks. (16) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
