This is a full-time and non-exempt staff position. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in classrooms, dormitories, offices, and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, showers, and other high-traffic areas following proper sanitation protocols.
- Empty and dispose of trash and recycling bins throughout the campus and ensure outdoor areas are free of litter.
- Conduct minor repairs on facilities and equipment, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and maintaining doors and windows.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and report inventory needs via the Academy's work request system, SchoolDude.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, including moving furniture and arranging spaces.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or repair needs, and adhere to all school safety protocols and guidelines.
- Assist with basic outdoor maintenance, including sweeping walkways, raking leaves, and clearing snow as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities to support the overall upkeep of the campus.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
- Must be able to work collegially, be committed to working in a diverse community; have experience working and communicating with diverse populations; and enjoy working with young people in a boarding school environment.
- Ability to pass a background check per school policies.
- Must have a valid driver's license
HOURS
- Monday - Friday, typically 07:00 am to 3:30 pm. Overtime, weekends, and nights are required at times.
- Hourly/Non-Exempt Essential personnel.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED This position reports to the Director of FacilitiesSUPERVISION OF OTHERS This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.PHYSICAL DEMANDSTo perform essential functions of the job, the following applies:
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Must work safely and wear proper attire to suit the conditions of the job function.
- Is capable of standing, bending, walking, and climbing stairs.
- Able to perform multiple tasks.
