Job Description:

Job Objective: This position is responsible for performing cleaning, housekeeping, light maintenance to maintain the appearance, safety and security of the building and grounds. Essential Functions: Maintain all floors Provide scheduled general cleaning maintaining building appearance, safety and security Empty trash May provide minor building maintenance (minor painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and other relate maintenance activities) Inspect and notify management concerning needs for major repairs, safety or security issues Advise direct supervisor of janitorial and building supply needs Provide routine outside maintenance. Clean snow and debris from sidewalk Follow schedule for cleaning windows, furniture, floor polishing Set up furniture for meetings as required Assist with receiving donations Assist with seasonal activities Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Two years' experience in maintenance field preferred Certifications/Licenses: NoneSkills/Abilities: Ability to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in building related skills and trades Ability to read and understand schedules, work orders and product safety information Ability to organize, prioritize and meet work schedules on timely basis with minimum of direct supervision Ability to operate basic maintenance equipment including hand tools Ability to work irregular and extended hours when required Willingness to accept on-call assignments during building emergencies. Position requires a confident, self-motivated, multi-tasked individual with integrity in the use of resources Act in a manner consistent with the Mission of The Salvation Army Supervisory Responsibility: None Physical Requirements: Include standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods of time; lifting up to 50 pounds. Travel: None Driving: Driving is required; must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
