- Adhere to the custodial and preventative maintenance plan to ensure that the facility's common spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, offices, residential spaces, and the building's grounds are clean, sanitary, and properly stocked with supplies.
Secondary:
- Assist in the apartment/room turnover process by cleaning out and preparing apartments for new residents.
Responsibilities: Other functions that may be required with this position include:
- Emptying trash bins, shredders and recycling bins throughout the day and sanitizing containers weekly.
- Properly clean rugs, carpets, and floors daily.
- Buffing and polishing floors monthly, and cleaning carpets monthly.
- Dusting and vacuuming all offices and common spaces, and polishing applicable metal work, as needed.
- Participating in advocacy and direct action to end the twin crises of homelessness and HIV/AIDS.
- Shoveling snow and applying salt/de-icer on grounds, when necessary, during assigned shifts.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required within one year of hire date.
- Able to lift 50lbs., carry and remove trash, shovel snow, operate machinery, and climb a ladder
- The Custodian position is one which requires the staff person to be present in the program site 100% of the time.
- The Custodian must handle cleaning chemicals and solvents daily.
