Paid time off is offered in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Kelso Education Association found HERE.School employees | Washington State Health Care AuthorityJob Summary: The job of Night Lead Custodian is done for the purpose/s of maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility; providing adequate arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; and minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure, and ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* Upholds board policies and follow administrative procedures* Coordinates personnel as assigned for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the workforce and meeting shift requirements* Monitors custodial staff effectively and consistently for the purpose of maintaining positive working relationships among all custodial staff* Coordinates and monitors custodians' daily/weekly tasks as needed for the purpose of ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner* Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items as needed to properly maintain facilities* Arranges and/or coordinates custodial staff to arrange furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities and events outside of school hours* Cleans school facilities (i.e. classrooms, offices, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment* Delivers variety of items (e.g. supplies, mail, packages, furniture, etc.) for the purpose of distributing the materials to the appropriate parties* Informs students, other site personnel and supervisor for the purpose of providing information regarding activities, safety and/or proper maintenance of facilities* Secures facilities and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage, loss and liability and ensuring safety at work site* Performs minor maintenance and repairs (i.e. replace faulty light switches, light bulbs or fluorescent globes; open plugged drains using a snake or plumber's friend ; replace washers in faucets and valves; spot paint; reglue loose tile and wall coverings; remove graffiti) for the purpose of maintaining a safe working environment.* Inspects school or district facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions,OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:* Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities* Repairs furniture and equipment for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition* Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities* Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policiesQUALIFICATIONS:* Experience Required:* Prior job related experience with increasing levels of responsibilities, preferably in school and/or institutional setting.* Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:* Skills to use cleaning agents; supplies and equipment; perform basic math to calculate accurate dilution of cleaning agents.* Knowledge of methods and use of cleaning materials, equipment and supplies, and safe work practices including MSDS requirements. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heating and thermostatic control systems, and how to cope with electrical and plumbing emergencies.
