Vacuuming carpets. Cleaning stairwells. Disinfecting touch points and surfaces. Cleaning window glass on entry doors and office windows. Cleaning employee lunch rooms. Dusting. Emptying trash receptacles and shredding machines.Rate of Pay: $17.20 per hour and $4.41 per hour Health and Welfare rateLocation: Burlington, VermontIs additional clearance required? Yes, along with the agency background check, employees must apply for clearance and badging through the Government agency Department of transportation.Duties and Responsibilities:Performs routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.Performs routine maintenance of custodial equipment and supplies.Empties trash receptacles and dispose of trash into compactors and/or dumpsters and bags trash for proper disposal.Unlocks doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.Reports needs and concerns to Project Manager, including checking supply levels.Ensures proper care in using and maintaining equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.Minimum Job Requirements:Less than high school; no previous experience required.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.Ability to read, understands, follow, and enforce safety procedures.Ability to understand written and verbal communications.Conditions of Employment:Must meet program eligibility requirementsMust pass a pre-employment criminal background check.Must pass a government background to acquire a PIV access badge.QualificationsSkillsPreferredLifting less than 20 lbs: NoviceUse of power scrubbers, waxers and buffers: NoviceKnowledge of Custodial/cleaning practices: NoviceDocumentation: NoviceCleaning: Some KnowledgeAbility to multitask: Some KnowledgeCommunication - verbal: IntermediateBehaviorsPreferredTeam Player: Works well as a member of a groupEnthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interestDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellMotivationsPreferredSelf-Starter: Inspired to perform without outside helpEducationPreferredHigh School Diploma/GED or betterEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
