Salary: $33,421.00 AnnuallyLocation : Kill Devil Hills, NCJob Type: Full-timeJob Number: 2024-00653Department: Parks & RecreationOpening Date: 09/09/2024About the Position Performs manual work in the care and cleaning of facilities and buildings, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor. Job Duties
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and buffs floors; shampoos carpets; strips and waxes floors.
  • Removes trash and recyclables from buildings and surrounding areas and places in appropriate location.
  • Cleans windows and glass doors; removes dust from baseboards, chair rails and window seals; cleans tables, desks, walls, chairs, and blinds.
  • Cleans and restocks restrooms; cleans and disinfects water fountains, door handles, light switches, and door plates; cleans elevator.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy items.
  • DHHS Department Specific - Supports and maintains the workspaces and work stations used by eligibility and enrollment system staff.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
Position Qualifications
  • General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment and ability to use them economically and efficiently.
  • Ability to understand oral and written directions.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy manual work.
  • Ability to work independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, and the general public.
Education, Experience and Supplemental Information
  • High school diploma or equivalent or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Valid driver's license.
