Position InformationPosition Title: Custodian - Part-TimeDepartment: Facilities Operations & ManagementPosition Number: 0000000Hiring Range: $18.00/hrLocation of Position: Dartmouth CollegePosition Purpose:Under supervision from the Custodial Squad Leader or Custodial Supervisor, performs a wide variety of tasks, including:Cleaning and unskilled building maintenanceEvent set-upsAnimal and insect controlImplementing recycling proceduresMedium to heavy lifting activities may be necessary indoors and outdoors at a variety of the College's facilities. This is a 20-hour/week position.Required QualificationsDemonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.Ability to be dependable, reliable and to work autonomously and as a member of a team.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including lifting and carrying light to medium weight objects.Preferred QualificationsSix months' experience related to custodial work.Ability to operate and maintain heavy industrial cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, powered scrubber, buffer, carpet shampooer) and other hand-operated tools.Ability to understand and knowledge of safe use of various chemical substances used in cleaning purposes and insect control.Familiarity or ability to learn different table/chair arrangements for event set ups.Must successfully complete the following training prior to performing work to which the training relates: Hazard Communication, Blood Borne Pathogens.Employment InformationFLSA: Non-ExemptEmployment Category: Temporary Part-timeSchedule: 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift positions available; 20 hours/weekEqual Opportunity EmployerDartmouth College is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.
