Note: This is a part-time position will not exceed 20 hours per week.
SUMMARY:
Keeps county facilities clean and orderly by performing custodial duties in county buildings and by performing minor repairs on facilities and equipment.
The employee is required to be on duty before, during, and after natural disasters and emergencies, as directed by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs general cleaning including sweeping, mopping, dusting, picking up trash, emptying waste baskets and ash trays.
Cleans walls, windows and light fixtures.
Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and re-stocks restroom supplies.
Unstops toilets and sinks.
Operates buffers, strippers, waxers, vacuums and carpet shampooing machines.
Replaces light bulbs and other similar replaceable items.
Performs minor repairs on equipment and fixtures.
Picks up and delivers supplies, equipment and/or other goods.

Must pass a criminal background check.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED is preferred with demonstrated ability to read and write.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Employee uses basic mathematics to prepare bleach for restrooms and sealer, wax and remover for floors.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Texas Class C Operators License is required.

Ability to safely and correctly operate cleaning equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other county employees and officials.
