Work includes typical housekeeping duties in cleaning bathrooms, offices, hallways, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, etc. Employee works in early morning, during the day or after office close. Employee follows weekly schedule in cleaning building(s). The employee is subject to hazards in maintenance work including working in both inside and outside environments and exposure to cleaning solutions. Work is subject to the OSHA requirements on blood borne pathogens. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures, supplemented by instructions under regular supervision of the designated supervisor and is evaluated by observation, inspection of completed work on a daily basis and feedback from staff in building(s). Essential Duties and Tasks Cleans walls, windows, and blinds.Cleans bathrooms; scrubs lavatories and toilet fixtures and mirrors and replaces or restocks tissue and paper towel supplies and soap dispensers.Cleans and buffs floors; strips and waxes floors occasionallyVacuums public areas and offices and shampoos carpets occasionally.Cleans sidewalks, picks up trash outside, and empties trash.Dusts cabinets and furniture in public areas.Cleans glass doors and mirrors.Empties trash containers and replaces liners as need dictates, and straightens public areas.Uses tools and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops, and wringersReplaces filters, light bulbs, etc. that may be broken or worn out.Follows safety procedures in performance of work.Performs related duties as required.*This position is 25 hours per week. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.General knowledge of routine maintenance requirements of buildings and general grounds maintenance, and equipment used.Ability to identify cleaning needs and resolve with appropriate methods and supplies.Ability to perform manual labor requiring continuous physical effort.Ability to understand and follow instructions.Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with peers, supervisor, and the public when required. Physical Requirements/Special RequirementsThe work requires non-strenuous physical exertion such as periods of standing; walking over rough or difficult surfaces; recurring stooping, climbing or walking; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items weighing less than 25 pounds and may require occasional lifting of objects weighing in excess of 25 pounds. The work may require specific, but common physical characteristics and abilities such as mobility, dexterity and full range of motion.
