DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate.
Boiler operator-refrigeration license.
Physical ability to lift maximum allowable weight on a daily basis.
Pass required physical examination upon conditional offer of employment.
Work experience or training in building maintenance trades.
Must have established a reputation for being honest, trustworthy and of high moral character.
Mentally alert, ambitious and capable of carrying out day-to-day work assignments.
Presents a neat appearance, well groomed, clean and appropriate clothing.
Capable of getting along with co-workers and supervisors and be able to meet others in a courteous, friendly and helpful manner.
Capable of getting written directions and literature in the field with understanding, and be able to express himself/herself clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
Good attendance and punctuality record in previous job or educational experience.
Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:Under supervision, responsible for performing work required for the routine cleaning, upkeep maintenance and/or operation of the building(s) assigned to his/her care and performs such duties as:
Mop, sweep and scrub floors and other surfaces.
Clean, renovate and renew floor surface finishes.
Move furniture, supplies and miscellaneous equipment as directed.
Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, trim and related furnishings.
Collect bags, or dispose of waste paper, debris or junk via containers for removal by truck.
Wash and/or clean light fixtures and replace incandescent and fluorescent lights.
Lock and unlock doors and windows to classrooms, lecture rooms and offices, and turn off unnecessary lighting.
Wash all interior glass including partitions, doors, etc. and all exterior windows and door glass.
Perform grounds cleaning and preservation as directed.
Report immediately all items that require major repair.
Perform routine minor maintenance.
Follow written work schedules.
Responsible on shift for HVAC and boiler operation.
Guard property against fire, theft and illegal entry.
Work from ladders and scaffolding.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SALARY: $20.00 per hour full benefits availalbe on first day of employment
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
LOCATIONS/SHIFTS: 2nd and/or 3rd shift
