SUMMARY: Maintains the safety and cleanliness of the assigned facility and performs light maintenance as directed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other appropriate duties may be assigned.)
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned bathroom areas as well as replenishment of supplies including, but not limited to, soap dispensers, toilet paper dispensers and paper towel dispensers as assigned.
- Cleans and maintains assigned areas including but not limited to emptying trash, dusting, sweeping, mop/wet mopping, washing surfaces on a daily basis as assigned.
- Utilizes power equipment including but not limited to, scrubbers and waxing equipment to provide heavier cleaning assistance as assigned.
- Secures facility as assigned.
- Light painting as assigned.
- Provide set up assistance including chairs, tables etc, as assigned.
- Shovel/salt walking surfaces surrounding the facility as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness of the outside area surrounding the facility as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of two years of prior work experience as a custodian
- Strong communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions.
- Ability to report to work in inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl for a period of 8 hours per day.
- Ability to work independently and maintain security of the building
- Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements.
