LaSalle Network is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customer Logistics Specialist to join the team of an industry-leading client located in Schaumburg, IL. This hybrid role blends customer service and logistics responsibilities, serving as the critical interface between customers, Account Managers and the logistics team. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth operations, maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and drive customer satisfaction by effectively managing orders, resolving issues and supporting supply chain operations. This role will initially be on-site for training, with work-from-home opportunities on Mondays and Fridays once established. Flexibility to come on-site as needed. Customer Logistics Specialist Responsibilities:
- Serve as the key operational liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring timely and efficient service
- Partner closely with Account Managers to communicate customer activities, including sales support, order updates, changes, complaints and analysis
- Manage inquiries related to pricing, products and lead times within contractual obligations
- Ensure accurate processing and tracking of customer orders, adhering to established controls and procedures
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain/Logistics team to determine and execute fulfillment strategies, accounting for all costs in customer quotes
- Establish relationships with approved logistics service providers and oversee replenishment orders
- Coordinate inventory programs involving customers, mills, third parties and internal departments
- Identify and escalate critical service issues using internal prioritization processes, ensuring resolution
- Handle customer complaints and billing adjustments, driving swift and satisfactory outcomes
- Maintain and manage the order book to align with sales contracts and service levels, supporting working capital targets
- Support internal reviews by delivering service analysis and reporting
- Back up Customer Service Representatives (CSR) as needed due to shifts in buying trends
Customer Logistics Specialist Requirements:
- Experience in freight forwarding, light logistics or related supply chain fields preferred
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables (VLOOKUPs are a plus)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with an ambition to learn and grow
- Ability to adapt to evolving responsibilities and provide backup leadership support to the Customer Service Manager
