Job Summary: We are seeking a detail oriented Customer Order Specialist at SBM Life Science that will play a key role in servicing the customers we partner with and is a key communicator between the SBM Life Science sales, distribution, and accounting teams and the Customer. The role is responsible for end-to-end management of customer orders from processing customer orders and solving issues related to the order process, to post-sales support of credits, deductions, payments and disputes. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Process Customers orders and address order issues with both internal and external teams.
- Maintain and monitor the orders to cash process to ensure a seamless transaction.
- Process returns and debit and credit purchases [HS1] in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work closely with the Planning and Distribution teams to allocate Inventory or proper customer order fulfillment.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all Order statuses, Customer requests, product returns and disputes.
- Monitor backorders on a continuous basis and provide updates to customers on backorder status as changes occur.
- Build relationships with the customer and support the sales team in servicing the customer.
- Track open returns to completion while following up on any return order not closed within the approved timeframe.
- Validate programs and pricing exceptions to ensure proper processing and documentation.
- Maintain a strong, cooperative, reliable, and professional working relationship with both external and internal customers.
- Collaborate and assist with other Customer Service Specialists on the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in business or relevant field OR 5+ years of experience processing customer orders in the CPG industry.
- 2 years of experience working in a customer order processing role
- Experience in order management in an ERP system
- Experience handling data driven order management.
- Experience understanding and translating programs into order processing details.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel doing pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.

- Strong organization skills, multi-tasking, and time management
- Ability to solve problems quickly as they arise
- Skilled at maintaining strong working relationships with external support functions and customers.
- Advanced skillset with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Travel Requirements:
- There will be about 5% or less of estimated travel locally to the Customer Distribution Center during business hours and/or national travel with potential overnights expected.
