Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is looking to add to our expert Customer Service team. As a Customer Relations Specialist, you will be an essential advocate for our customers, providing responsive, accurate service while upholding our commitment to reliable water and wastewater utilities. This role supports a collaborative, service-oriented team dedicated to meeting the needs of our community.
The Day-to-Day
+ Customer Inquiries:Respond to customer inquiries related to service setups, disconnects, billing concerns, and account management. Investigate and resolve issues efficiently, issuing work orders and coordinating with meter techs to ensure customer satisfaction.
+ Relationships: Act as a liaison between customers and internal departments, facilitating effective communication and support.
+ Community Development: Handle property transfer requests from title companies, verify outstanding tap fees and balances, and manage account updates. Prepare and maintain account files for construction projects, calculate and collect tap fees, and oversee billing adjustments.
+ Administrative: Answer incoming calls, log into the agent queue, and assist with scheduling appointments for home visits.
+ Billing: Update customer billing information, prepare utility account adjustments, manage payment plans, and participate in collections and lien procedures. Oversee notices, payment arrangements, and tax certifications in compliance with district standards.
+ Data Input and Analysis: Audit customer and account files, input payments, print batch reports, and correct input errors as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Competencies
+ Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED with 1-3 years of experience in customer service, receivables, or data entry.
+ Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with CIS Infinity, WaterSmart, or similar software preferred.
+ Language: Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
+ Key Attributes: Strong organizational skills, continuous improvement thinking, time management abilities, and a team-oriented attitude.
Schedule
A Customer Relations Specialist will work f eight hour shifts from 8:00am - 4:30pm. The work week will run from Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role and the employee may work from home 2-3 days per week.
Compensation
The range for this role is $26.41 - $36.97 hourly. Hiring wage will depend on qualifications and experience.
