We are looking for a Customer Relations Specialist who is searching to do what they'll love - handle a high volume of customer calls! Do you have experience in customer service? Do you love food? A Bachelor's Degree in English, Communication, Consumer Affairs, Consumer Science or Foods and Nutrition is strongly preferred. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, California. The Customer Relations Specialist's primary responsibility is to handle customer questions, complaints, requests and concerns about Trader Joe's products and experiences by phone, e-mail, and written correspondence as needed. Daily research may be required using the tools of the job such as Riskonnect, the Customer Relations Database, Allergen Database (PDP) and other available resources. Other projects may be assigned. No supervisory responsibilities are required. The Customer Relations Specialist is responsible for:
- Respond to a high volume of customer and store calls, emails and letters. Handle all customer complaints, concerns, and suggestions in a time efficient manner, including follow-up with clear written correspondence.
- Listen and answer customer questions concisely and accurately. Let the customer know that you hear them and help them in a direct and sincere manner.
- Adjust time spent on the telephone as it pertains to the customers' and department's needs.
- Forward calls and correspondence to appropriate channels when needed [these may include the Quality Assurance, Real Estate, Buyers, Human Resources, Accounting and Insurance Departments.
- Maintain Information Books and the Customer Service Database for use within the the Customer Relations Department.
- Maintain accurate complaint records for Quality Assurance purposes.
- Ensure effective information sharing both within the department as well as with customers, stores and other relevant parties.
- Visit at least 1 store and 1 vendor a year to expand knowledge and stay in tune with the constituents we are serving.
The requirements are:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with an emphasis in English, Communication, Consumer Affairs, Consumer Science, or Foods and Nutrition.
- Prior retail/grocery and/or customer service position extremely helpful.
- Good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal, listening, and writing skills.
- Ability to be friendly and professional under pressure.
- Ability to gather information and answer customer questions in a timely, concise manner.
